After the attacks: Ukraine wants to see European air defense

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj is urging Europe to develop its own air defense. The push comes after last night's deadly Russian attacks on Ukraine.

"Europe needs its own missile defense so that this war can finally end," he writes on X.

The extensive Russian attacks send a clear message, the president believes: If Ukraine is not protected against missile attacks, the attacks will continue.

"And help from the US with deliveries of missiles for the Patriot (air defense system) is absolutely necessary. We are counting on support from our partners and concrete responses to today's attack," he writes.
