Another bear attack is reported from Japan. Four people were injured when a lone bear went berserk in Fukushima.

The bear made its way through an industrial area and a residential area on Tuesday morning, chasing the people it encountered. Surveillance images released by the steelworks in Fukushima show a man being pursued by the bear, then attacked and falling to the ground.

All four injured – two of whom had bite wounds – required hospital treatment, writes Kyodo News. One is said to be seriously injured.

Last year, 13 people were killed by bears in Japan, which is a record. Most recently, in April this year, another person was killed in a bear attack, and in May, a Russian man hiking a few miles west of Tokyo was injured by a bear.

However, most of the attacks have occurred in forested areas in northern Honshu.
