Middle East Crisis Israel-Hezbollah

Israeli Minister: “All of Lebanon must burn”

“All of Lebanon must burn” – said Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel's Minister of Internal Security, in a statement after four soldiers were killed. This is reported by AFP.

– With all due respect to the Americans, Israel must make it clear to the whole world that the blood of our sons and the safety of our citizens are not negotiable, he says.

After the talks between Iran and the US were canceled during the day, Israel has taken up the fighting with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Netanyahu: Will Demand a “High Price” from Hezbollah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the country will demand “a very high price from Hezbollah,” Reuters reports. The statement comes after four Israeli soldiers were killed after new fighting flared up in Lebanon, according to the Israeli military.

Netanyahu says Israel will stay in the country “as long as necessary.”

The new fighting could shake up peace talks between the United States and Iran, writes the Washington Post. Talks were to be held today between the countries, but were canceled after JD Vance announced that he had postponed his trip.

Lebanese President: “Dangerous Escalation”

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemns Israel’s latest attacks, writes AFP. He says that “the killing and destruction constitute a dangerous escalation”.

– It effectively undermines all ongoing efforts to consolidate the ceasefire and end the war, the presidency said in a statement.

Aoun has in recent months tried to negotiate with Israel to end the conflict, writes The New York Times.

18 people are reported to have been killed in Israeli attacks, while the IDF states that four Israeli soldiers were killed, writes the BBC.

At least 16 dead after new Israeli attacks in Lebanon

In the shadow of the peace talks, the Israeli military has carried out attacks on targets in southern Lebanon during the night, according to AP and AFP. Lebanese state-run NNA reports that at least 16 people have been killed. The Israeli military also states that four soldiers have been killed.

Israel claims that the attacks are a response to “repeated violations” of the ceasefire. Hezbollah states in a statement that the clashes in the area are ongoing.

Israel draws new border in Lebanon – does not rule out more attacks

Israel published a new map during the day showing that the area under Israeli military control in southern Lebanon is expanding, Reuters reports.

Israel also announced that it does not rule out attacking beyond the new border. Israel has rejected calls to withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon.

At the same time, Lebanon states that Israeli attacks have killed three people on Thursday, writes AFP. The Iran-backed Shiite militia Hezbollah says that the fighting against Israel in southern Lebanon is still ongoing.

The agreement signed by the US and Iran calls for a cessation of fighting on all fronts, including in Lebanon. The agreement also requires all parties to ensure Lebanon's "territorial integrity and sovereignty."
