Starmer attacks Musk: "Trying to divide"
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer criticizes Elon Musk for the billionaire's loud statements after the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak in Southampton in December. This is reported by several media outlets.
-Musk has tried to interfere in our politics in recent days and tried to divide, says Starmer.
Nowak was stabbed but handcuffed by the police despite being seriously injured. He later bled to death. Footage from the police's body camera has politicized the case, which has led to a discussion about alleged racism against whites.
Police arrested stabbed Henry Nowak before he died
On Monday, 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 18-year-old student Henry Nowak in Southampton in December last year. The murder, and especially the police's actions in connection with the incident, have sparked debate and anger in Britain, several media outlets report.
Henry Nowak had been stabbed but was arrested by police after Digwa accused him of a racist attack. Images from police body cameras show Nowak repeatedly saying that he had been stabbed and was having difficulty breathing while being handcuffed. Shortly afterwards, he loses consciousness.
An investigation into the police's actions has been launched.
The case was debated in the British parliament on Tuesday. It has also been exploited in politics, writes TT. Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, has described the incident as a sign that white Britons are not treated equally before the law as ethnic minorities.
The claim is rejected by Prime Minister Keir Starmer's staff, reports the BBC.
- There is no such thing as two-tier policing, says Starmer's press spokesman.
