Rubio: Mojtaba Khamenei is alive
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says that Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, is alive and increasingly active.
- I think there are indications out there that he is becoming increasingly involved at some level, Rubio said on Tuesday during a hearing in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Khamenei the younger, whose father Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed on the first day of the war, has not been seen in public since he was appointed the new supreme leader.
The only signs of life have been through written statements.
