60,000 have been forced to flee the fires in Washington

Almost 60,000 people have been evacuated due to fires in the state of Washington in the USA, several media outlets report.

At least 600 buildings have been destroyed near the city of Spokane and approximately 100,000 hectares have burned throughout the state.

At least three of the fires are considered to be of a larger scale and have not yet been fully controlled.

Reality star: Nothing can prepare you for the devastation

The American reality star Spencer Pratt, who previously ran for mayor of Los Angeles, has commented on the forest fires in Washington.

“Nothing can really prepare you for this kind of devastation. I wish I could say it will get better soon, but it will take a long time,” he wrote on X.

Pratt lost his house in the Pacific Palisades fire last year, CNN reported. He urged people who lost their homes to make a plan and “not count on” the government to save their homes. He also urged residents to be prepared to have to flee in the middle of the night.
