Iran’s security chief outlines demands for ending the war
Iran’s security chief, Mohsen Rezaee, has outlined several conditions for ending the war with the United States.
In an interview with the media outlet Al Jazeera, the head of Iran’s security council stated that the proposal has been submitted to the mediating nation, Qatar, for delivery to the United States.
Rezaee reiterated several points that have previously come up in discussions with the US, while also highlighting positions that Tehran views as the basis for indirect talks with Washington.
In addition to demanding that "all attacks cease on all fronts," Rezaee emphasized the need for the release of frozen Iranian assets. Iran also demands an end to the US maritime blockade.
He added that the war between the Iran-backed Houthi movement and the Saudi-backed government in Yemen must come to an end.
The details have been conveyed to Qatar and Pakistani mediators, and Iran is now awaiting a response from US President Donald Trump.
