Sources: More American deaths than the Pentagon reports

The number of American deaths during the war against Iran is higher than the Pentagon has publicly acknowledged. Six sources have stated this to *The Washington Post*.

Five of the sources—described as having deep insight into the matter—report that "at least 22" Americans have been killed. The sixth source puts the figure at 23. Additionally, three individuals contracted by the U.S. military are reported to have been killed.

According to the Pentagon’s casualty database, the death toll stands at 18. The circumstances surrounding the additional deaths remain unclear.

Donald Trump bars CNN and Politico from the White House

U.S. President Donald Trump is barring media outlets CNN, Politico, and MSNBC from reporting from the White House, Reuters reports.

In a post on Truth Social, he accuses the media of "constantly reporting fake news," though he does not elaborate on what specifically he is referring to.

At a press briefing shortly after announcing the decision, Trump stated that the move stemmed from issues that had been building for years rather than a single news story, NBC News reports.

"You get tired of it," the president said.

Trump also indicated that other media outlets could face expulsion from the White House in the future.

According to CNN, there are no signs that the Trump administration has taken steps to enforce the ban. Reporters are still working from the network's workspace within the White House.

Previously, the news agency AP was barred from operating at the White House after refusing to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the "American Gulf." That decision has been challenged in court.

Republican Mitch McConnell’s return to the Senate this week has sparked speculation regarding his health, Forbes reports.

The 84-year-old senator, who had been on medical leave for three months, has been wheeled to and from votes, according to Forbes. CNN journalist Manu Raju writes on X that McConnell appears frailer and speaks more slowly than before.

During a vote in the Agriculture Committee, McConnell was about to vote against a bill supported by his party when his colleague John Boozman leaned over and whispered for him to vote in favor, The Independent reports. As McConnell left the vote, he responded to reporters' questions by giving a thumbs-up and a peace sign.

The British industrial group INEOS has begun storing carbon dioxide beneath an old oil platform in the North Sea, approximately 200 kilometers off the west coast of Denmark, AFP reports.

Project Greensand is the EU’s first full-scale carbon storage facility and is expected to store 400,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually in its initial phase.

"We have charted a path for European industry—continuing the transition toward a low-carbon future while retaining production, investments, and jobs on our continent," says Dan Jørgensen, the EU Commissioner for Energy.

Violence in Pakistan
At least 15 dead in mosque bombing in Pakistan

At least 15 people have died and 56 have been injured in a bombing at a mosque in northwestern Pakistan, AP reports.

The explosion occurred in the city of Kohat, near the border with Afghanistan. A perpetrator reportedly drove a car laden with explosives into the mosque.

It remains unclear who is behind the attack.

Many acts of violence in the area in recent years have been carried out by the Pakistani Taliban movement, TTP, TT reports.
