Deadly explosion at military facility in Syria

An explosion at a military facility in Syria has claimed more than ten lives, according to the country's Ministry of Defence.

At least eleven people died in the explosion in Deir Ezzor, in the eastern part of the country. The cause of the explosion is unknown, according to the ministry.

Several explosions have previously occurred at sites including weapons and ammunition depots in Syria. Earlier in September, an explosion took place in the northwestern part of the country, killing at least 14 people.
