Russia: ”Massive” attack on Belgorod

Ukraine has launched an attack on the Russian region of Belgorod, according to both Russian and Ukrainian sources.

At least four civilians have been killed and many injured, the region’s governor, Aleksandr Shuvayev, stated on Telegram, describing the incident as a ”massive” drone attack.

”So far, the attack has damaged 30 apartment buildings, 35 cars, four private homes, three administrative buildings, eight commercial properties, and three social facilities,” he wrote.

According to unconfirmed reports, a large shopping center has been set on fire, *The Kyiv Independent* reports.

Belgorod is located in southern Russia, a few dozen kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Large-scale Ukrainian drone strikes have also been reported in the neighboring Kursk region, leaving thousands of people without power.

More than 530 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russia during the night, the Russian Ministry of Defense in Moscow stated, according to the exiled Russian outlet *Astra*.
