Hegseth may be called to testify regarding Starlink

Top Democrat Adam Schiff wants U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to testify before the Senate regarding restrictions placed on the Starlink satellite network for Ukraine, NBC reports.

"He should be called in—anyone with knowledge of what happened," he says.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that it was likely the White House that made the decision regarding the restrictions. There have been conflicting accounts as to how exactly this transpired.

According to Ukraine, the issues—which limited drones to operating at lower speeds—were resolved over the weekend.

Musk: Ukraine used Starlink for lethal strikes – loophole closed

Elon Musk claims that the Ukrainian military violated SpaceX’s terms of service by using the civilian Starlink satellite service—rather than the military-grade Starshield—to carry out offensive attacks against Russia.

"That loophole was closed last week," he writes in a lengthy post on X.

Last week, Ukraine noticed that their drones' connection to Musk’s satellite service had suddenly become restricted. Kyiv interpreted this as an attempt by the U.S. to pressure them toward peace, rather than pressuring the aggressor, Russia.

Musk has previously claimed that he had nothing to do with the matter. He adds that SpaceX has "done more for Ukraine" than any other company—"by a wide margin."
