Trump repeats: Wants Swedish immigrants
US President Donald Trump has once again referred to migrants from “shithole countries”—calling instead for immigrants from Scandinavia—according to reports from several media outlets.
At a campaign rally ahead of the midterm elections in Perry, Georgia, on Saturday, Donald Trump alluded to one of his controversial 2018 remarks regarding “shithole countries”—though this time he referred to them as “shithouse countries”—describing them as being “infested with terrorism.”
“Libya, Yemen, Haiti, Somalia—do you remember what I called them? ‘Shithouse countries.’ Why do we always have to take people from the Third World? Why can’t we take people from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark?”
The desire for Scandinavian immigrants is a recurring talking point for Trump, who also brought up the subject during a speech last year.
