The IPO Boom

Anthropic to Invest 8 Trillion SEK in AI Expansion

AI company Anthropic has entered into agreements for data centers, chips, and computing capacity totaling up to $807 billion—just over 8 trillion Swedish kronor—over the next ten years. This is revealed in the prospectus released on Monday ahead of the company’s upcoming initial public offering (IPO), as reported by The New York Times and MarketWatch.

The list of suppliers includes tech giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, SpaceX, AMD, Broadcom, and Alphabet.

Many of these agreements are non-cancellable, while others offer greater flexibility.

These massive commitments underscore the extent to which Anthropic is betting that future revenue will cover its costs. For context, the company’s revenue for the first half of this year stood at $16.3 billion.

Furthermore, Anthropic warns that additional funding may be required sooner than anticipated, according to The New York Times.

Anthropic posts 800 billion [SEK] loss in first half of year

AI company Anthropic incurred a loss of $80.7 billion—just over 800 billion Swedish kronor—during the first half of 2026, according to its IPO prospectus.

Anthropic explains that nearly 90 percent of this loss is an accounting effect. It primarily stems from an increase in the value of convertible loans (debt that can be converted into equity) as the company’s overall valuation has risen.

Meanwhile, the AI giant’s revenue surged fifteenfold to $16.3 billion compared to the same period last year.

AI giant Anthropic heads for the stock market – could set a new record

AI giant Anthropic is moving one step closer to a stock market debut, reports The Wall Street Journal. On Monday, the company filed an application to list on the Nasdaq in New York, accompanied by an IPO prospectus.

Sources have previously indicated that the company will seek a valuation of $2 trillion. If achieved, this would surpass the valuation of Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which went public in June. Shares in the company are expected to begin trading sometime in November.

At the same time, some investors have sought to push down Anthropic’s valuation, following revenue figures that fell short of expectations and the cancellation of planned IPOs by other AI companies, the WSJ notes.

Anthropic is the company behind, among other things, the highly acclaimed AI service Claude.
