All the workers rescued from the tunnel after 17 days
Rescue workers have freed all 41 tunnel workers trapped in a collapsed tunnel construction in India since November 12, Indian media reports.
They have been taken out through a passage of welded pipes and are being treated in a temporary clinic that has been set up inside the tunnel opening, according to India Express.
While trapped, the workers were encouraged to talk, tell stories, practice yoga and play board games that were passed through a narrow hole, according to Sky News. They also had food, medicine and oxygen sent to them 4.5 kilometers into the tunnel.
The effort has encountered several setbacks and the last nine meters have been dug by hand, according to Reuters.
