Big increase in "crucial" Turkish goods to Moscow
The
United States and its allies express concern that Turkey serves as an
important export channel for sensitive equipment to Russia, the
Financial Times reports.
Turkey's exports of goods that can be used in the Russian military have increased dramatically during the year. The goods are described as "crucial" for Russia's war apparatus.
In
the first nine months of this year, Turkey sent 45 different types of
goods, which the US classifies as "high priority", with a total value of
158 million dollars. In
addition to Russia, the goods have been sent to five former Soviet
states, which are feared to be sending the equipment on to Moscow. The value is three times higher than during the same period in 2022.

"Don't underestimate Russia - can sacrifice human life"
Ukraine inflicts heavy losses on Russia - which, at the same time, should not be underestimated. This is what NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says in connection with the foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels, reports AFP and TT.
The NATO chief points out that Russia is weak politically, economically and militarily, but then added:
- We must never underestimate Russia. Their defense industry is in war mode. They have been able to resupply their forces with ammunition and have received significant amounts from North Korea. And they are willing to sacrifice human lives, says Stoltenberg.
Regarding the Swedish NATO application, Stoltenberg said that "the time has come to let Sweden join" the defense union.

Kristersson on Finnish concerns: "Helps if needed"
Hundreds of people have made it to the Finnish border in recent weeks to seek asylum. According to the Finnish government, it is a staged Russian strategy to create division and endanger security.
- This is a Russian aggression and a hybrid attack against the EU, says Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo at a press conference according to Reuters.
Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson is visiting Helsinki and he also attended the press conference. He supports Finland's decision to temporarily close all Russian border crossings, writes TT.
- We will help if Finland asks for help at the eastern border, says Kristersson.
