The winter weather
Snowy weather hits Europe - flights are canceled in several places
Both southern Germany and parts of Great Britain have been paralyzed by heavy snowstorms, several media reports.
In Munich, Germany, air and train traffic has been suspended, according to Deutsche Welle. More than 40 centimeters of snow fell during the night to Saturday and a total of 760 flights have been affected, writes AFP.
Flights were also canceled in Scottish Glasgow on Saturday morning, writes Sky News. The runway was reopened later in the day, but at the same time new weather warnings have been issued across the British Isles.
According to Aftonbladet, Sweden may also suffer from an intensified cold snap next week, depending on whether the high pressure from the east or the Atlantic high pressure "wins".

Bologna's Leaning Tower is in danger of collapsing
The Garisenda computer in Bologna, Italy, has stood firm, but on a limb, for almost 1,000 years. But now its days may be numbered, writes CNN.
The city has investigated the tower and discovered changes in the direction of the tilt. A plan is now being launched to avoid "sudden and unexpected collapse". The area has been cordoned off and a metal structure will be erected around the tower to reduce the risk of large landslides injuring people and adjacent buildings.
The BBC writes that the municipality believes that the situation is "highly critical".

Russian LGBT laws
Police raid gay bars in Moscow
Russian security forces raided gay clubs and gay bars in Moscow on Friday evening, writes AFP. According to local media, visitors must have been checked and photographed by the police.
The crackdown comes just days after Russia's Supreme Court ruled that what it calls the "global LGBTQ movement" is an "extremist organization."
According to AFP, activists believe that the classification of such a vaguely defined movement gives the police far-reaching opportunities to crack down on LGBTQ people or their organizations.
- In practice, this may mean that Russian authorities, with this court decision in hand, can prevent LGBTQ initiatives from operating in Russia, says activist Max Olenichev to AFP.
