Macron does not think Hamas can be crushed: Ten years of war are required
Israel's goal of completely destroying Hamas could take ten years of fighting. This is what French President Emmanuel Macron says during a speech at the climate conference COP28.
- The total devastation of Hamas. What is it and does anyone think it is possible? It will take ten years of war and I don't think anyone can clarify what the goal means, says Macron according to Le Figaro.
Furthermore, Macron says he will travel to Qatar to help the country mediate between Hamas and Israel. He says it is important to bring about a new ceasefire.
- The fight against terrorism does not take place through a systematic and permanent bombardment, he says.

"Deadlock" in the negotiations - Israel calls home mediators
Israel is taking home its delegation from the mediator country Qatar, reports AFP. The reason is said to be that talks about a new ceasefire with Hamas have stalled.
In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office writes that, as a result of the "deadlock", intelligence chief David Barnea has ordered his team to leave Doha and return to Israel.

Hamas: No more hostages will be released during the war
There will be no more exchanges of hostages and prisoners with Israel until the war in Gaza is over, Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri told Al Jazeera, according to Reuters.
- The Israeli hostages will not be released unless there is a ceasefire and all Palestinian prisoners are released.
The hostages remaining in Hamas' captivity are all Israeli soldiers or civilian men who served in the army, according to al-Arouri.
Earlier on Saturday, Israel stated that the negotiations with the terrorist group on a new ceasefire had reached a "deadlock" and that it was calling home its delegation from the mediator country of Qatar.
