New elections in Germany
Vance's attack shakes up German elections: "Unacceptable"
At the security conference in Munich this weekend, US Vice President JD Vance strongly criticized the German "firewall" and the fact that no parties are cooperating with the right-wing nationalist AfD. The move has added fuel to the migration debate in the country, the fact that support for the AfD continues to increase and has shaken things up considerably ahead of the elections on Sunday, writes TT.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is very irritated by the criticism, which he calls unacceptable.
- Others should not tell us who we are cooperating with. We know it ourselves, given our country's history, he says.
CDU leader Friedrich Merz, who was tipped to win, is on the same track, while AFD's Alice Weidel is all the more positive about Vance's criticism.
- We must not build firewalls to exclude millions of voters from the start - we must talk to each other. He made that clear, she says.
With five days left until the election, around 30 percent of German voters say they have not yet chosen a party.

Elon Musk vs Europe
Norwegian Kia's attack on Musk: "Elon went crazy"
A campaign for the car brand Kia in Norway is now printing stickers with the text: "I bought this after Elon went crazy". This is reported by the Norwegian newspaper Kampanje.
The boot is aimed at Tesla owner Elon Musk and refers to his close relationship with Donald Trump's team.
- It is not some kind of agenda against Tesla or Musk, but just an attempt at a funny comment on something you see everywhere these days, Øyvind Waage, the head of the campaign, tells the newspaper.
Norwegian NRK has previously reported how "Tesla shame" is growing in the country after Musk joined Trump's
team. That's when the stickers with the girl against Tesla began to spread.

Toronto plane crash
Passengers: "We were hanging upside down like bats"
The passenger plane Delta flight 4819 landed unusually hard at Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada, then it banked to the side, a fire broke out and then the plane overturned.
- We were hanging upside down like bats, passenger Peter Koukov tells CNN.
He was able to unbuckle himself and climb onto the roof of the plane, but several people needed help to get free.
Passenger John Nelson also describes the dramatic two minutes – from when everything was fine to when he was hanging from the plane that had caught fire.
“We tried to get out as quickly as possible,” he says, adding that he then heard an explosion.
“Luckily, the fire department arrived.”
It is unclear what caused the crash, but just before landing the pilots said there could be some turbulence on approach due to strong winds. Everyone on board survived the accident.
Violence in Pakistan
13-year-old tortured to death for stealing chocolate
A couple living in northeastern Pakistan have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 13-year-old girl who worked for them as a maid, writes the BBC. The girl is said to have been killed for stealing chocolate.
The girl, identified as Iqra, was taken to hospital with multiple injuries. A preliminary police investigation has suggested she was tortured.
The case has sparked outrage, with tens of thousands of people demonstrating under the slogan “justice for Iqra”, sparking a debate on child labour in the country.
“I felt completely crushed inside when she died,” says the girl’s father, Sana Ullah.
The 13-year-old started working as a maid at the age of 8 because her father was in debt.
