Kellogg arrives in Kyiv: “Sovereignty is important”

Donald Trump’s envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg has arrived in Kyiv, news agencies report. Footage shows Kellogg arriving in the Ukrainian capital by train and being welcomed by U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.

Later today, Kellogg is to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian officials. According to Kellogg, his main task today is to “listen” and report back to the White House.

“We understand the need for security guarantees. We understand the importance of the sovereignty of this nation,” he says.

The meeting in Kyiv comes the day after the high-profile meeting between the Russian and U.S. delegations in Saudi Arabia, a conversation in which Kellogg did not attend.

Zelensky: Trump is trapped in a disinformation bubble

Donald Trump is trapped in a “disinformation bubble,” says President Volodymyr Zelensky, the day after Trump accused Ukraine of starting the war in 2022.

– I wish Trump’s team had more facts about Ukraine, Zelensky said, according to Reuters.

He also said that the US demand for the return of $500 billion in minerals is a frivolous proposal and that he “will not sell his country.”

On social media, Zelensky called Russia’s leadership “pathological liars” after new drone attacks last night. The attacks took place despite Russia having held talks with the US in Saudi Arabia yesterday.

“We must never forget that Russia is ruled by pathological liars – they cannot be trusted and must be put under pressure. For the sake of peace.”

New poll: Zelensky's approval rating is at 57 percent

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has 57 percent approval in a new poll by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, published hours after Donald Trump claimed that the president's approval rating is at a few percent. AFP reports.

The telephone survey of 1,000 Ukrainians showed that Zelensky's approval rating had increased by five percentage points since the last poll in December 2024.

In March 2022, shortly after the full-scale Russian invasion, Zelensky's approval rating was at 90 percent. The institute noted in February 2025 that the president "retains a fairly high level of trust."
