Marielle Lundvall, 19, was out with her dog at 05.
Then the sky lit up:
- It's the coolest thing I've ever seen, she says.
Burning light over southern Sweden: "What the hell!"
Shortly before 05 on Wednesday morning, Marielle Lundvall, 19, in Malmö was going out to walk her dog.
Then she saw something that sent her into a slight shock.
- I was standing looking at the moon and then I saw this, says Marielle Lundvall.
At first she thought it was a shooting star.
- My first thoughts went to war. But then I tried to think logically and thought it was a shooting star, she says.
After a quick phone call to her father, the picture became clearer.
– He is very interested in this kind of thing and explained that it was probably a burning satellite, says Marielle.
Could be Musk satellites
The sky phenomenon has also been seen in Denmark. And according to a meteorologist on Danish TV2, it is probably, just as Marielle's father suspected, a burning satellite.
"It is very rare to see in Denmark. However, there have been several cases in recent years when the number of satellites in space has multiplied, mainly due to SpaceX's Starlink satellites," writes TV2.
It is unclear whether in this case it is old Starlink satellites that have crashed.
