Several dead in attack on Gaza

At least ten people have died after an Israeli attack on a camp in Gaza, and fighting on the ground before the attack.

Witnesses told the AFP news agency that fighting broke out near a school when members of an Israeli-backed militia tried to take away suspected Hamas members. Shortly afterwards, the site was attacked by Israeli drones and rockets.

According to the Health Ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza, at least ten people were killed in the ground fighting and attacks, and dozens more were injured.

The Israeli military says it will investigate the incident, which occurred at a refugee camp in central Gaza.

At least 723 Gazans have been killed and over 1,900 have been injured in Israeli attacks since a ceasefire began last October, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, figures the UN considers reliable.
