Epstein case British connections

Epstein victims want meeting with King Charles in the US

A group of victims of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and their relatives have asked Britain's King Charles III for a meeting during the king's visit to the US, the Washington Post reports.

"We strongly urge King Charles to meet with us and hear what we have to say," Virginia Giuffre's family wrote in an email to the newspaper.

Giuffre, who took her own life last year, has accused King Charles's brother Andrew of rape and sexual assault.

- A meeting with King Charles would be a step in the right direction for the monarch, to acknowledge the wrongs committed by one of his own but hidden from the public for far too long, says Sigrid McCawley, a lawyer who represents several of Epstein's victims.

Andrew and Epstein — the case

  • Britain's Prince Andrew has been accused of sexual assault linked to Jeffrey Epstein's sex crime scandal for many years, including by Virginia Giuffre.
  • Several lawsuits have been filed against Andrew in the US and the UK, but he has consistently denied all allegations.
  • Documents and testimonies have shown that Andrew had extensive contact with Epstein. He has spent extended periods at Epstein's home and has been in the circle of him and Ghislaine Maxwell.
  • The scandals have led to Andrew being stripped of his royal titles.
  • As new Epstein documents have been released, Andrew has been drawn deeper into the tangle. The British court has increasingly distanced itself from Andrew.
