At least twenty people have been killed in bombings in various parts of Iran overnight, according to state media there.

In Israel, more Iranian projectiles are hitting and victims are being dug up in rubble.

At least 25 people have been killed in attacks on Iran overnight, according to morning reports in the country's controlled media. Many of them are said to have been killed in an attack on the city of Eslamshahr, just south of the capital Tehran. A further number of people are said to have been killed in southern Iran.

The Israeli military has announced that a wave of attacks has been carried out and claims that it was directed at "regime targets in Tehran". The Israeli side has then spoken of three people killed.

Cluster bomb against Israel

Iran has in turn attacked Israel, where there are reports of cluster munitions hitting the city of Tel Aviv and projectiles in many other places. Several people have been injured and the attacks have reached the ground in at least a dozen places, Israeli media report.

In the port city of Haifa in northern Israel, a rocket hit on Sunday and rescue workers have been searching for missing people among the rubble of a collapsed seven-story building. Two people have been found dead.

Iran warned during the night to Monday that it would hit back much harder.

“If attacks on civilian targets are repeated, the next step in our offensive and retaliation will be significantly more devastating and extensive,” announced an Iranian military spokesman.

In the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, there have also been reports of attacks during the night.

Threats and profanity

Iran's warning followed sharper rhetoric from US President Donald Trump, who in posts filled with profanity has threatened to destroy more and more of Iran's civilian infrastructure, such as power plants and bridges. He wants Iran to stop blocking the Strait of Hormuz and allow ships with oil to pass in and out of the Persian Gulf.

Trump has given Iran deadlines that have been repeatedly postponed. This time, the US president is indicating that he expects the Iranian regime to meet him by Tuesday at the latest.

According to sources to Axios, talks are being held through mediators about a 45-day ceasefire in two phases, but the American news site's sources admit that it is unlikely that such an agreement will be reached within Trump's deadline.
