Hospital in Lebanon damaged in new Israeli attacks

A hospital in the coastal city of Tyre in southern Lebanon was damaged in an Israeli attack on Saturday, the health ministry said. The attack targeted other buildings nearby and injured at least 11 people.

The hospital director says the hospital can remain open despite the damage to the building. AFP reports that the attacks destroyed two nearby buildings.

Since Hezbollah entered the war on Iran's side, Israel has launched several attacks on Lebanon. The IDF has also launched a ground invasion of southern Lebanon.

Israel says it has launched attacks on what it calls “Hezbollah infrastructure” in the Lebanese capital Beirut, reports AFP. This after a bridge in the eastern part of the country was destroyed to prevent the militia group’s reinforcements from reaching the city.

An AFP journalist on the spot reports that several loud explosions have been heard and local media are also reporting attacks on Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Just a few hours before the attack, the US embassy urged all Americans to leave Lebanon immediately. The Swedish Foreign Ministry has advised against all travel to the country since March 9 this year, writes TT.

In the afternoon, Israel again urged people in several parts of Tyre to leave in anticipation of new attacks.
