13-year-old daughter seen as Kim Jong-Un's heir
Kim Jong-Un's 13-year-old daughter Kim Ju-Ae should be considered the North Korean dictator's heir, South Korea's intelligence service assesses according to the AP.
This is the clearest statement so far about the teenage daughter's place in the power hierarchy. Previously, South Korea has only stated that she is the likely heir.
Sister Kim Yo-Jong has long been pointed out as a candidate, but Lee Jong-Seok, head of the South Korean intelligence service, says that she practically lacks political power.
Tank tour a sign: "Should dampen skepticism"
A sign that Kim Jong-Un's 13-year-old daughter Kim Ju-Ae is the North Korean dictator's heir is that she has recently been seen in a defense context. This is according to South Korea's intelligence service, according to the Korea Times.
On one recent occasion, state media showed how the teenage daughter drove a tank with her father.
"It is considered to be aimed at alleviating skepticism about a female successor and accelerating the work of establishing the narrative for a power transition."
