Senate Votes to Limit Trump's War Power
For the first time, the US Senate has voted to pass a resolution requiring Trump to end the war in Iran or seek congressional authorization for continued military strikes, US media reports.
The resolution was passed 50-48 after Republicans Rand Paul, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins and Bill Cassidy voted against Trump and joined Democrats.
The House of Representatives has already approved the resolution. However, the parties disagree on whether it is legally binding, especially after the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war.
Sources: Iranian drones were seen in "jellyfish formation"
The American fighter pilot who was shot down and rescued in Iran saw Iranian drones moving in a synchronized formation that looked like a jellyfish, four sources told CNN.
The pilot is said to have shared the sighting with intelligence agencies afterwards, which has not been previously reported. This has reportedly given rise to a lively debate within the American intelligence community.
– Real alien stuff, says a source.
If the pilot's testimony is correct, it would indicate a previously unknown Iranian drone capability, writes CNN.
Intelligence experts disagree about what he may have seen – there is speculation of a test or even a mirage in the desert, since the pilot suffered a concussion in connection with the crash.
However, it is not ruled out that the alleged drone formation may have shot down the F-15 plane, according to the sources.
