Trump's "peace council" releases plan for Gaza's reconstruction
The plan for the reconstruction of Gaza drawn up by Donald Trump's so-called peace council has shrunk dramatically, reports The Guardian.
In January, the peace council presented a plan that included beach hotels, skyscrapers and over a hundred thousand newly built houses. Now all that remains of the plan is a small pilot project in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
The project is intended to begin by the end of the year, according to sources. It will include a temporary camp for a fraction of Gaza's two million inhabitants, as well as a Palestinian administration, police force and a small international security force.

The attacks continue: "Trump open to diplomacy"
The attacks between the US and Iran continue for the fifth day in a row.
The US launched a new wave of attacks on Iran this evening. According to Iranian state media, several bridges and an airport in southeastern Iran have been hit.
Iran has previously stated that it has urged the Houthi rebels in Yemen to close the shipping lane in the Red Sea if the United States attacks Iranian infrastructure. This could have far-reaching consequences for international trade.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt says that the Trump administration is in contact with the Iranian government, and claims that Iran wants to reach an agreement. She further says that Trump “will not allow” Iran to shell ships in the Strait of Hormuz without consequences.
– But at the same time, he is always open to diplomacy, she says.
