The first refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh have arrived in Armenia
The first refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh have arrived in Armenia, AFP reports. The country's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced earlier on Sunday that the likelihood is increasing that the Armenian population in the region will flee to Armenia after Azerbaijan's blitzkrieg.
- Our government will lovingly welcome our brothers and sisters from Nagorno-Karabakh, says Pashinyan.
Around 120,000 ethnic Armenians live in Nagorno-Karbach, which has been a source of conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Armenians: The world has abandoned us - a shame
The events now unfolding in Nagorno-Karabakh will go down in history as a shame for the civilized world, says an adviser to Samvel Shahramanyan, Armenian leader in the conflict-torn region.
- The world has abandoned us, says adviser David Babayan, according to the Reuters news agency.
- If we stay, we will be ethnically cleansed by Azerbaijan, he continues.
He states that 99.9 percent of Armenians will leave Nagorno-Karabakh for fear of what will happen in the region.
At the same time, he announces that the process of handing over weapons to Azerbaijani authorities is ongoing, as part of a ceasefire.
