Prodded tops Altman and Brockman go to Microsoft
Open AI's fired CEO Sam Altman and former board member Greg Brockman are going to Microsoft. This is what Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella writes in a post on X.
In the post, Nadella writes that Altman and Brockman will lead Microsoft's new AI team and that he is "extremely happy to share the news".
During the morning, it was reported that Open AI's board appointed former Twitch top Emmett Shear as the new CEO - despite reports that heavy investors such as Microsoft and Thrive wanted to bring Altman back. The information about the new CEO now seems to be confirmed by Nadella, who writes that they "look forward to working with Shear".

Analysis: Ambivalence in Open AI makes history unique
The mess in Chat GPT developer Open AI and Sam Altman's sudden departure can probably be explained by the organization's internal conflict between "idealism and profit". Aftonbladet's Andreas Cervenka thinks so.
On one side stands a board with thoughts on AI security and on the other a CEO with a focus on financing the company's expansion.
"The fact that Sam Altman was not too bad at making money but, on the contrary, too good - is what makes this story unique," writes Cervenka.
Several columnists are on a similar track. Bloomberg's Matt Levine sees Silicon Valley capitalism in one corner of the ring and fears of an "AI apocalypse" in the other.
Reuters columnist Anita Ramaswamy believes that the turbulence brings to mind the company's technology.
"If the input is a concoction, the output will be broken," she writes and points out that, in addition to the problems at the owner and management level, Open AI is also challenged by the fact that the technology is unfinished and the valuation difficult to justify.
On Monday, it was announced that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman are taking the step to major owner Microsoft. A victory for CEO Satya Nadella believes Björn Jeffery at SvD Näringsliv.
"With Altman at the helm, talent will flock to Microsoft in a way that hasn't happened in decades," he writes.

Nine out of ten employees at Open AI threaten to quit
More than 90 percent of Open AI's staff — about 700 out of 770 — are threatening to quit in protest at the decision to fire Sam Altman. All have signed a letter with the message that they will follow the founder to Microsoft if he is not reinstated. Bloomberg reports.
The recent disagreement regarding the direction of the business was behind the board's decision to fire the co-founder and CEO. On Monday, the startup's major owner Microsoft announced that it had brought Altman together with partner Greg Brockman — who stepped down as chairman of Open AI last week — to lead an internal AI project.

500 employees threaten to resign - the "coup maker" swings
Almost 500 employees at Open AI have signed a letter threatening to resign and follow Sam Altman to Microsoft. They are demanding that Open AI's board resign and that Altman get his CEO job back, Wired reports.
In the letter, the employees write that by getting rid of Altman, the board has jeopardized all the work that the staff has put in.
"Your actions have clearly shown that you do not have the skills to lead Open AI.
"
Wired writes that it is particularly noteworthy that the letter has been signed by the company's head of research and board member Ilya Sutskever. He has previously been accused of coordinating the coup against Altman.
Shortly after the letter was published, Sutskever writes on X that he deeply regrets that he participated in the board's decision to fire Altman.
“I will do everything I can to reunite the company.”
