The Russian invasion The sanctions
Finnish companies smuggled drones to Russia
Two Finnish companies are accused of having exported drones and other products to Russia in violation of EU sanctions, AFP reports.
According to Finnish customs, almost 3,500 drones have been smuggled into the neighboring country. Six people are suspected, one of whom has been in custody since September.
The drones, semiconductors and other defense equipment have been exported to other countries but later ended up in Russia. One company must have been responsible for the purchases and the other for having carried the goods on.
The export is prohibited as a result of Russia's war against Ukraine.

Sweden's drones are few and old: "Reason to increase"
The Swedish defense drones are few, old and lack weapons. This is reported by DN, which has visited the regiment in Karlsborg that is responsible for the Swedish drones.
Exactly how many drones the defense has access to is secret, but according to DN's calculations, it is a double-digit number. By way of comparison, the newspaper mentions that between 20,000 and 30,000 drones are used up in the war in Ukraine every month.
- We have the ability and the capacity, but there is now reason to increase the pace of introducing more systems, says Markus Höök, regiment commander at K3 Karlsborg, who concludes that the Defense needs to hurry up.
