Deposed Defense Minister Wants to Return to His Post
Ukraine's former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who was dismissed by President Volodymyr Zelensky, will only accept one government post: as defense minister.
Fedorov's dismissal caused strong protests in Ukraine, and Zelensky was forced to replace Ukraine's military chief Oleksandr Syrsky - who had disputes with Fedorov - to appease the angry.
Fedorov has reportedly previously received offers from the president for new government posts, but on Thursday Fedorov replied that he is only interested in one position.
"I will not accept any other role than that of defense minister," he said in a statement to Ukrainian media, adding that he wants to fight corruption and "eradicate a culture of lies" and "complete the transformation of the army."
