Iran: “An eye for an eye” if the US strikes infrastructure
Iran will respond to any attack on its infrastructure, writes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on X. The warning comes after Donald Trump earlier in the day threatened to attack a bridge or power plant for every ship in the Strait of Hormuz that is fired upon by Iran.
“Our defense doctrine is clear: An eye for an eye,” writes Araghchi.
The US threat “will have no results except an expansion of the war,” says the Iranian military according to the country’s state media.
Sources: US investigating Russian involvement in Iran’s attacks on CIA facilities
The US is investigating whether Russia was involved in Iran’s drone attacks on CIA facilities in the Persian Gulf, sources told Reuters.
The investigation is looking into whether Russia provided homing information or advanced drone technology, the sources said.
The suspicions arose because of the effectiveness and precision of the drone attacks. At least two CIA facilities in Saudi Arabia and Iraq were hit by Iranian drones in March.
