Trump: Retaliation for every American killed
The US will retaliate for every American soldier killed many times worse, reads the latest threat from US President Donald Trump towards Iran.
"Every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay many times worse! This directive has been given to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense Daniel Caine, and every leader in the military," Trump writes on Truth Social.
Last week, at least two American soldiers were killed in an Iranian attack on Jordan. President Trump has told the media that the latest US attack was carried out "in memory" of the killed soldiers.
According to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran is now involved in a "full-scale war" against the US, writes AFP. The statement from the president comes after reports of new US attacks on Monday.
