Vance: We are fighting for low oil prices

The US's main goal with the Iran war is now to keep oil and gas prices down, claims Vice President JD Vance.

- I note that the price of oil is falling today and that it has fallen significantly since the peaks at the beginning of the conflict, says Vance in an interview with Fox News.

- That is goal number one: keeping oil and gas cheap for Americans throughout our country.

In second place in the US's order of priority in the war is to ensure that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons, claims Vance.

President Donald Trump has given various reasons why he, together with Israel, started the war against Iran in February that quickly spread in the Middle East and has caused oil and gas prices to skyrocket.

He has often referred specifically to the nuclear weapons issue, despite claiming that Iran's nuclear energy program has already been "wiped out" in previous attacks in 2025.
