Swedish diplomat expelled from Iran
A Swedish diplomat in the Iranian capital, Tehran, has been asked to leave the country, according to the state news agency Fars.
The diplomat has reportedly been given 48 hours to leave Iran.
Sweden's ambassador was also reportedly summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Thursday. There, Iran conveyed its protest against the Swedish government, which had announced the day before that an official at the Iranian embassy in Stockholm must leave Sweden. This decision was due to activities "inconsistent with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations."
