Former Ukrainian minister to build a robot army

Ukraine’s former Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov has launched the "Army of Robots" project, he announced on Telegram.

"The goal of the robot army is to protect human lives. The most dangerous jobs should be handled by robots so that our soldiers can return home," he writes.

An AI-generated video presents a vision of how deployed sensors detect threats on the front line, triggering various types of robots to activate and attack the enemy before they can threaten humans.

The project builds on Fedorov’s successful "Army of Drones" initiative, which he launched as Minister of Digital Transformation in 2022. The plan involves investing in defense companies, launching proprietary projects, and testing the technology in collaboration with the military.

The popular 35-year-old minister was dismissed by Zelenskyy in July, sparking major protests.

Kyiv is facing its fifth winter of the war. With the memory of last year’s bitterly cold winter still fresh, residents are doing everything they can to prepare, reports *The Guardian*.

A woman selling *salo*—salted pork fat—cheerfully explains that her personal strategy for enduring the winter is a supply of *horilka*, a homemade spirit.

Another vendor, Halyna, is resigned to the coming winter.
