Several energy facilities in Ukraine have been attacked overnight, despite Donald Trump’s claim that Ukraine and Russia have agreed to an energy truce.

"It is becoming increasingly clear that Russia does not want to reach a truce," Volodymyr Zelenskyy writes on X regarding the US president's claim.

Russia attacked six Ukrainian energy facilities on Monday, the Ukrainian president writes, stating that at least 33 people have been injured.

"This is what happens when Russia sees opportunities for higher revenues for its war machine," Zelenskyy writes, calling for increased foreign pressure on Russia "if we are serious about ending Russia's war."

Earlier on Monday, Russia declined to confirm whether an agreement had been reached with Ukraine.

"Talks are continuing. When we have something to say on the matter, we will of course let you know," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to the news agency AFP.

"Will respond"

Speaking at a security conference in Warsaw on Monday, Zelenskyy said the country "will respond" if Russia does not abide by the "energy truce."

"We are ready to respect an energy truce if Russia is ready to do the same." He added that he had heard about the ceasefire through the media, but that the news must have escaped Russian President Vladimir Putin:

"Putin obviously doesn't read Truth Social," he said, referring to the social media platform Trump frequently uses to communicate.

At least three dead

The head of the regional military administration in the Dnipropetrovsk region writes on Telegram that Russia has targeted three districts in the area.

Meanwhile, in the Zhytomyr region, the governor reports that railway and energy infrastructure have come under fire "repeatedly."

At least three people, including a young girl, have died in attacks on Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, and the region's military leader accuses Russia of carrying out "deliberate attacks to maximize civilian casualties."
