Sources: Iran provides Hezbollah with billions in refugee aid

Iran is providing the militia group Hezbollah with the equivalent of two billion kronor to assist internally displaced persons in Lebanon, sources tell Reuters.

The funds were reportedly transferred in September.

Israeli attacks on Lebanon have forced hundreds of thousands of Lebanese to flee their homes. So far, the displaced have received little to no assistance from Hezbollah. According to Reuters' sources, Hezbollah intends to distribute approximately 30,000 kronor to each family, prioritizing villages that were destroyed in the attacks or occupied by Israel.

October 7 Anniversary

Demonstrations in Israel: "Three years of guilt, shame, and regret"

Many memorial services have been held in Israel to honor those killed and kidnapped by Hamas during the terror attack on October 7, 2023. However, demonstrations against the Israeli government are also taking place, *Haaretz* reports.

"What can one say about three years of guilt, shame, and regret?" says Gal Goren, whose parents were killed on October 7. Demonstrations were held outside the Knesset as well as outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home.

The organization October Council, which organized a minute of silence in several parts of Israel, is demanding an investigation into the government's actions prior to the terror attack. The organization accuses Netanyahu of withholding information, ignoring warnings, and dismissing multiple alerts regarding the Hamas attack.

Houthi attack on airport in Yemen

The Houthi movement has attacked an airport in Aden, Yemen, using missiles and drones, government-controlled media report, according to Reuters. 

Earlier in the night, Saudi Arabia announced that it had shot down a missile north of the capital, Riyadh—a missile that Saudi officials say was fired by the Houthis.

The fragile ceasefire between the Houthis and Yemen’s internationally recognized government collapsed in July.
