Russian drone found off Polish coast carried explosives

A Russian drone found in the sea off Poland's northern coast was equipped with explosives.
The drone was discovered on Monday and has now been examined, according to military prosecutor Bartosz Okoniewski.
"It contained a warhead with a detonator," he said, without disclosing details regarding the drone's specific equipment or potential targets.
Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed that the drone—identified as a Gerbera-2 model—was found in the sea off the village of Rusinowo in northwestern Poland. The prosecutor's office in Szczecin is launching an investigation into the incident, it was announced on Wednesday.
Poland shares borders with Ukraine and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. Polish airspace and territory have repeatedly been affected by drone incursions since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Iranian official expelled from Sweden
The Iranian ambassador has been summoned to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and an Iranian official is to be expelled, the government announces.
This action is being taken to "protect our citizens" and Swedish interests, according to Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard.
Ambassador Hojatollah Faghani was summoned on Wednesday and informed that an official at the Iranian embassy must leave Sweden due to activities "incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations," the Government Offices write in a press release.
Minister for Justice Gunnar Strömmer states that Iran has for some time engaged in activities posing a security threat in and against Sweden. These activities have targeted dissidents as well as various Jewish and Israeli interests in the country, according to Strömmer.
"This has been done, among other ways, by utilizing criminal networks," he writes.
Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard views Iran's operations seriously, noting that the official is being expelled "to protect our citizens and other Swedish interests."
Swedes suspected of espionage in Finland
Two Swedish men are suspected of espionage in Finland, according to Finnish media reports.
The men, both in their 40s, share the same surname and live at the same address in Västernorrland, Sweden, reports *Ilta-Sanomat*, the outlet that first broke the story.
Both men were arrested in Finnish Lapland. The Helsinki District Court remanded them in custody on Wednesday based on the lower threshold of "reasonable suspicion," Yle reports.
Police suspect the alleged espionage took place between August 30 and September 12. There is no information regarding where or how the alleged crime was committed.
The men have no prior criminal record in Finland.
The National Bureau of Investigation is tight-lipped about the case, citing the fact that the investigation is in its early stages, *Ilta-Sanomat* reports.
The European Arctic Summit was held in Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland, on September 13–14. Leaders from several European countries attended the meeting. It is unclear whether there is any connection between the events.
