Has been missing since the Wagner uprising - here he is seen in a picture

Top Russian general Sergei Surovkin, also known as General Armageddon, has been missing without a trace since the Wagner uprising in June. Now he has appeared in what is claimed to be a newly taken picture of the now poked general.

In the picture, which has not been able to be verified, however, he can be seen walking with his wife Anna.

"General Sergei Surovikin is out. Alive, healthy, at home, with his family in Moscow. The photo was taken today, writes Ksenia Sobchak, a Russian journalist", on Telegram according to The Guardian.

Since the attempted uprising, there have been reports that the general sided with the Wagner group and leader Prigozhin and that he was arrested in connection with the uprising.

Same-sex partnerships become legal in Hong Kong

The Supreme Court in Hong Kong has decided that same-sex couples may form partnerships. International news agencies describe it as a partial victory for the LGBTQ movement.

Behind the change is imprisoned activist Jimmy Sham, who married his husband in New York almost ten years ago. He has tried unsuccessfully on two previous occasions to get Hong Kong to approve his marriage. The court does not go that far this time either, but it announces that Hong Kong's leadership has an obligation to establish an "alternative framework" for same-sex relationships.

In all of Asia, only Nepal and Taiwan accept same-sex marriage - and soon also South Korea, according to AFP.

Construction workers took a shortcut through the Great Wall of China

Construction workers have caused "irreversible" damage to parts of the World Heritage-listed Great Wall, Chinese police say, according to the BBC. Two men, a 38-year-old and a 55-year-old, have been arrested.

The two men are suspected of widening an already existing cavity in the wall, so that their excavator could pass through. The shortcut was created because the construction workers did not want to take a longer route around the wall, according to the police.

The Great Wall of China has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987.
