Russian-friendly Robert Fico new prime minister of Slovakia
Slovakian President Zuzana Caputová has appointed election winner Robert Fico as the country's new prime minister, Reuters reports.
Fico has previously been prime minister three times and leads the left-wing Smer party. He is described as pro-Russian and before the election he promised to end the country's military support to Ukraine.
Fico's Smer forms a government together with the centre-left party HLAS and nationalist SNS.

Armenia: No advantage to keep Russian military bases
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan feels betrayed by his former ally Russia after the Azeri offensive against Nagorno-Karabakh. He tells the WSJ that the country is ready to abandon Russia and instead approach the West.
- We no longer see any advantages in continuing to have Russian military bases in Armenia, he says.
Armenia has recently signed an agreement to buy French air defense systems, which is seen as a sign that the country's shift towards the West has already begun.

The charges against Trump
Trump fined – violated gag order again
Donald Trump is being fined for violating the gag order imposed on him by a New York court, Reuters reports.
The ex-president must pay $10,000 for calling a court employee biased.
- Don't redo it, then it will be worse, Judge Arthur Engoron told Trump.
As recently as last week, Trump was fined $5,000 for failing to delete a defamatory post about a court employee.
