Hertz turns off the pace of electrification
The car rental giant Hertz is slowing down when it comes to the expansion of the company's fleet with electric cars. Hertz made the announcement in connection with the company reporting its latest quarterly figures, writes CNBC.
One of the reasons is that Tesla lowered the prices in a way that caused the resale value of the existing electric car fleet to drop. In addition, repair costs have turned out to be higher than expected.
Hertz previously had the ambition to have an electric car fleet consisting of 100,000 electric cars by the end of 2022, but almost a year after that, the figure is only 50,000 electric cars, of which 35,000 come from Tesla.
