A year before the election: Trump leads in key states
Donald Trump is leading Joe Biden in several key states ahead of the upcoming election, writes the New York Times, which refers to a new opinion poll.
The former president leads by 10 percentage points in Nevada, six in Georgia, five in Arizona and Michigan, and four in Pennsylvania, according to the poll.
The six states are all so-called "swing states", which often swing between voting for the Democratic or Republican candidates in the presidential election, and which can thus decide the decision in next year's election.

Trump testifies in fraud case: "Risks of destroying his company"
Donald Trump is expected to testify in the fraud trial against him that is being held in New York today. The indictment risks undermining the image of Trump as a successful businessman, AP writes.
- Right now the prosecutor's indictment threatens to destroy his company as well as his financial future, says Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former lawyer and "fixer" to the news agency.
The indictment concerns, among other things, suspicions that Donald Trump deliberately exaggerated the value of his companies.
"This would have been dramatic enough if he was just an ex-president, but the fact that he is the overwhelming favorite to lead the Republican Party makes this a stunning Monday," said Douglas Brinkley, a historian specializing in US presidents, to the AP.
