Världstemperatur troligen över 2-gradersmål i fredags
World temperature probably above 2-degree target on Friday
For the first time ever, global temperatures in one day are believed to have been more than two degrees warmer than pre-industrial levels, reports Axios. It was on Friday that the temperature in the world, according to estimates from the weather service Copernicus, was 2.06 degrees above reference levels.
At the same time, Axios notes that a single day with temperatures above the two-degree target does not mean that the Paris Agreement's goals have been missed. The countries that signed the agreement undertook to keep global warming well below two degrees. But the agreement rather refers to an average over one or a couple of decades.

Analysis: Super rich emit like several coal power plants
Twelve of the world's richest people together cause emissions of greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of 4.6 coal-fired power plants, according to calculations referred to by The Guardian.
The figures are based, among other things, on the multi-billionaires' private flights and luxury yachts, and their investments in, for example, the fossil industry. According to Oxfam, the world's richest 1% account for greater emissions than the poorest 66%.
Mexican business magnate Carlos Slim tops the list of biggest emitters, followed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Slim and Gates each cause an annual carbon dioxide emission of over six million tons.
While Slim and Bezos did not answer any questions, a spokesperson for Gates says the 68-year-old has taken steps to reduce his own emissions, such as by driving electric cars, and that he is investing in green technology.
