The police tried to break up the illegal rave party in Dorset.

But the dancing Britons refused.

The violent clashes continued for 24 hours.

2,000 people gathered on Sunday morning for a rave at a military shooting range in Dorset in southwest England.

The plan was to stay there for several days, according to Dorset police.

When the police arrived, they were met with a “violent and hostile reception”. Among other things, projectiles were thrown at them.

It took almost a day before the police managed to shut down the event.

“Officers worked tirelessly throughout the day and into the night to disperse the crowds,” said Chief Constable Steve Lyne, according to Sky News.

About ten people have been arrested and police are now trying to identify more of the perpetrators.

“These types of events are illegal and cause significant disruption to communities – we must act to ensure everyone’s safety and it is unacceptable that we are being subjected to violence at the same time,” said Steve Lyne.
