Only one in ten Europeans sees the US as an ally. This is according to a new survey conducted by the think tank ECFR.

Threats to Greenland, war in the Middle East and promises to withdraw troops from European bases. The US's actions have caused Europeans to change their attitude towards the previously close and important ally.

According to the survey, published on Wednesday and conducted in May, only one in ten Europeans surveyed consider the United States an ally.

Many of those surveyed believe that relations with Washington will recover once President Donald Trump leaves the White House, but at the same time want to strengthen European defense to protect themselves against US unreliability.
