Trump: Iran's response too late – "will pay the price"

Iran has taken too long in the negotiations for a peace agreement, writes US President Donald Trump on the Truth Social platform.

"Now they will pay the price for it," he continues, without specifying what that means.

The president claims in his post that the Iranian military is "a total mess" and that it has been "totally defeated."

"The Middle East bully is dead," Trump writes, partly in capital letters.

As recently as Tuesday, the president said that the parties were in the "final stages" of negotiations to reach a peace agreement.
