Trump's USA Midterm elections in the USA

Boyed out again after defending Trump's budget

Nebraska Republican Mike Flood was once again booed when he defended Donald Trump's budget package "One big beautiful bill" during a voter meeting on Tuesday, reports The Hill.

The package, which was hammered out last summer, contained both tax breaks and cuts, including in the state health care programs Medicaid and Medicare.

When asked how he intended to protect benefits for people with disabilities, Flood barely had time to answer before the audience started booing.

- According to One big beautiful bill, he began before the booing began.

This is not the first time Flood has been met with protests. At a voter meeting in August last year, he was also booed when he defended the package.

During a meeting in May, he was also pressed about its content. When he tried to distance himself from certain parts, he was interrupted by a person in the audience:

- You voted for the whole package.

Platner's campaign is exploring – if he chooses to drop out

Graham Platner's campaign has begun exploring how to proceed if he chooses to drop out of the Senate race following the rape allegations, writes Politico.

Several people from the campaign have reportedly reached out to the Maine Democratic Party organization, according to executive director Devon Murphy-Anderson.

- We have repeatedly explained to Graham Platner's team that they have no role in selecting our next Democratic nominee for the US Senate, he says.

They believe Platner should drop out so that Democrats can focus on the November elections.

On Monday, Platner said he would "take time to reflect" on his candidacy. But according to a source, he is considering continuing the campaign if his replacement does not come from the same branch of the party, writes Politico.
