Netanyahu’s party: Election was stolen by Arab parties
The election in Israel “has been stolen by Arab parties,” claims Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s party, Likud.
According to a statement from Likud, the Arab parties—which received a record number of votes in Tuesday’s election—achieved their success through “serious offenses, including bribery, threats, violence, forgery, and the illegal use of software to mobilize voters,” reports The Times of Israel.
Consequently, Likud is demanding “a thorough investigation.”
A representative for the country’s Central Elections Committee (CEC) dismissed allegations of electoral fraud in an interview with Israel’s Channel 12 earlier on Wednesday.
Throughout the election campaign, Netanyahu repeatedly stated that he views cooperation with Arab parties as illegitimate.
