Peace talks are held in Malta - Zelenskyi seeks broad support
New talks on how peace can return to Ukraine will be held on October 28-29 in Malta. However, Russia is not expected to participate. Instead, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes to gather support for his peace plan, writes AFP.
After a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Zelenskyy says that Turkey will participate in the talks with its "authoritative voice and position". The NATO country Turkey has also previously tried to act as a mediator between the countries.
Similar talks were organized in Copenhagen in June and in Saudi Jeddah in August.
